Hi everyone,
After a long and difficult weekend Sam was admitted back into the hospital Monday morning, but hopefully will be getting out within the next few days. She is still dealing with the complications of the surgery. Sam was having difficulty breathing (even with the home oxygen) due to the fluids still building up in her chest around the lungs. The doctors expect this fluid issue to last a few more months for Sam. In the mean time, it has left her very fatigued and weak. She is still getting nutrients through an NG tube but she is able to get out of bed for a few hours during the afternoon and eat a little bit. Most of the surgical pains are gone but she still has pain from the pleural catheters “fluid” tubes. The good news is that the organs and the ostomys are functioning well. Also with the holidays coming she is looking forward to seeing some of her friends and the rest of the family. Oh, and did we mention that since we have to be away from home during the winter how grateful we our for the little things, like that the Doctors are here in southern Florida ☺ Sorry to everyone home in Chicago who are stuck back in the windy city with the usual cold, snow and political corruption.
Lots of love,
Chris
PS. sorry we are a little late, but happy 3rd Birthday to Lauren Connelly!

Hi ...
It's good to hear from you. Sorry that Sammy is having a rough time. Hopefully she will be back home soon. Yes it's cold, windy and snowy! I keep asking myself "why do we live here", and let's not talk about the political corruption. Enjoy the holidays with your family! Miss you guys
All our love,
Nancy and girls
Our heartfelt prayers are still with all of you. I know it is hard to watch your child struggle and you wish you could do more. Still remember God's loving arms enfold you all.
Love.............
Prayers and still thinking of you!
I keep up with Sammy's blog and pray for Sammy and her family. Even though I don't know Sammy, I will pray for her, and know that God is with all of you at all times.
