Hey everyone! Our cable has been out for a few days so sorry havn't been able to update! Wednesday my mom and I went into the hopsital for first round of this new chemo and ended up staying for quite a bit longer becuase I needed a couple transfusions as well, since my hemoglobin was a tad under. But all went well (really well when I kicked my mom's butt in rummy {on heavy drugs} shhh!) Today (well its past midnight.. so Thursday) I got my first at-home chemo. The nurse was great and fortunately had paper work to do during the hour we had to wait together since I was so sleepy and a bit drugged I passed out. My pain is finally being controlled! I have an at home continuous dilaudid pump that gives me pain meds slowly throughout the hour, and I can push a button (to a certain extent and limit) which will add more if I'm still in pain. It's doing the same thing as the ones in the hopsital did for me.
This is helping with my shoulder and allowing me to start to function around the house normally again instead of just laying on the couch all day saying my shoulder hurts and demanding back rubs from anyone I can see! (I still don't mind a back rub here or there tho) Otherwise I still am laying around (on the hammock mostly) trying to get some good R & R. It's not NEARLY as bad, but like when I was in the hospital and couldn't remember anything, I'm again a bit on the forgetfull side. So don't be insulted if I don't call you back ever or things like that...just keep on calling me and bugging me! That never fails! :) ...Unless you're my parents requesting something to be done around the house then.. wait what? i forgot! ow ow my shoulder!!..... ;) Lots of love
Sammy

Sammy,
It was so good to hear from you.
Sounds like you have the same kind of "selective hearing" and memory "problems" as your Uncle Mikey....he uses it to his advantage ALL the time..."say what?...oh yeah, I forgot" Hummmm...must be in those *!**! Wangler genes.....
Uncle Mikey is in town visiting...hello from all the Kling Family.
Love you.
Amy and Michael
Bella must love having you home.
Sammy,
Glad you are home enjoying this perfect summer weather! Sorry you don't have a more chalenging rumy partner though! Isn't it a bummer when the cable goes out?? It makes us realize how much we depend on the tv and computer!! Hang in there Kiddo!

Hey if you guys want to park at our house (we back up to the golf course) for the fireworks, let me know and we'll leave you a spot. Float me a note and it'll be done.
Sammy,
It was great seeing you and your smiling face at the parade today. You are a true hero to our girls and us!
We thought you should have had your own float. It could have been like a Ferris Bueller thing.
Next year we want to see you in White Sox colors instead of that tasteless Cubby blue.
Stay strong,
The Curtis's

Hey Samster,
Guess what? I get to have radiation and chemo next week. And you thought you were the lucky one! We'll have to compare notes about our Chemo Sabes.
