Hey all.. It's Wednesday morning and I'm looking outside and kinda feeling as crummy as the weather looks out there. I hear theres a bunch of snow back home but all i can see out my window is rain here in Chicago. I'm starting to feel crummy from this chemo that we got started on Monday night, but at least now after my scan when I feel crummy is reassuring because I know that means its actually working and doing its job. The tummy aches and.. such.. you dont need all those details.. but all that is worth it if those nasty little tumors are getting smaller. My blood cultures have been coming back negative since the 1st so thats good. I'm now only taking one antibiotic, which is the vancomiacin, or 'the vanc' as we call it. I get that twice a day, and I've been doing that since I got into the ER and thats a 14 day thing, so I'll have to continue that one I get home for a few more days. I've been happy to have one of my favorite nurses Dasha a few times here the past couple days which is really helpful to me. She's so awesome- super super sweet and easy to talk to, and good at what she does, so it's always so nice to have her. It's pretty amazing how much of a difference they can make when I'm in here feeling crummy, and I'm so thankful to have nice people like her helping me out. I don't know if they know how much of a difference they can really make, even though they're just doing their job its really comforting when I have people like her as my nurse. So for now, I'm just gonna keep on doodling, watching movies, writing when I can, and playing my guitar a bit for a few more days in here until I go home. It's a 5-day chemo round, so the last round will be Friday night, so I'll most likely be going home Saturday morning. I can't wait to see Bella run around in the snow I hear she loves digging her face into it and running around.. i can only imagine. She is such a smart dog too if you haven't heard.. when she needs to go to the bathroom she goes to the back door and uses her front paw to hit a bell thats hanging on the door then she just sits there and waits for us. Once she's outside she'll do her thing, maybe play a bit and when she's ready we just installed a big outdoor bell that she learned to hit that too so we can hear that inside when she needs to come back in. The most amazing part for most dog owners is when she comes in she takes a seat right away on the matt, and gives you her paws to be wiped down. What a good puppy right? That's my girl!! I can't wait to go home and play and cuddle with her. So for now just gonna battle a few more days here, and I'm on the road to going home. This chemo round was the one where I got real naucious and mouth sores pretty badly, but they're attempting to do a few things different with the chemo, like give them at different rates, even though I'll be getting the same amount. They're hoping that is going to help me not get the mouth sores as bad because boy were those a pain in the you know what. This is also the chemo round that does the hair loss, so I'll most likely lose the lovely brows and eyelashes during this one so we'll have to see how spooky I look without brows after this! Thanks again for all the constant support I've been getting, as always it's a boost and helps me keep on truckin' through all of this. As always-
lots of love
Sammy

Hey Kiddo,
I'm as friend of your aunt Cara(and isn't she a great cook! My FAVORITE COOK! Did'ja ever try her brushetta? Mmmm...mmm!)& uncle Tom(I know-I know...uncle who? smile...!)I just wanted to wish you da'best! I've been reading your blog, and of course the stories abaut(oops! I've got ta' get spell check?)about Bella. My parents did the same thing when I was your age, installing a bell at the back door, but...unfortunetly we didn't have a "Bella", IT WAS FOR ME! a-n-d you wanna know what? Yeah, you guessed it...they forgot to hang a bell outside! Soo...I'm sitting here w/my nose in the snow for the last four days(or is it forty yrs. UGH!) hoping they'll install a outdoor bell?(can I borrow Bellas'?) I believe aunt Cara installed an outdoor bell for your uncle Tom? But...then again, we're talkin'bout your uncle Tom...NOT! Bella's pretty lucky, she not only has you as her best bud, but...A OUTDOOR BELL TOO!
Wishing you DA'BEST!
Harry(Your aunt Cara & uncle "what's his name" friend)
