confusion and compassion

Sam is currently out of the hospital and resting in our apartment.  She is still very weak and receiving IV fluids during the day and TPN  at night.  Things have been pretty chaotic because apparently our home care, IV medication & supply company which also contracts out our home nursing company was taken over by a Walgreens company two days ago.  The transition has not gone too smoothly.  All our old contacts were instantly unavailable and new people were calling with no explanation, like it was no big deal starting the process over.  The new nurse who came out last night has the same name as the old nurse just to confuse things a little more.  However it worked out fine as she was very sweet and competent.

Those of you who know our mutual friend Jennifer Mosher, please wish her luck as she is awaiting her test results today.  Jennifer has been battling Breast Cancer for over 5 years, then it metastasized to her bones, where, as you probably know, there is no definitive cure.

Jennifer found a Dr. at M.D. Anderson in Texas doing clinical trails where she received treatment involving radiation and a stem cell transplant.  After a little time away from Texas recovering, Jen just returned to MD Anderson to learn the results of her treatment.

Please visit Jen’s site at www.jenmosher.com  where you will see that she is a very beautiful, sweet and compassionate woman.  We wish you the best of luck Jen… with all our love,

Chris and family

Sam, Chris, and Dolly,
We are so glad to hear of Sam's progress and your bright spot of coming home soon. Yes there is no place like home. We hope you all have a smooth and peaceful transition back to Chicago. Caroline says hello to Sam and she hopes she feels better soon. She knows what a drag it can be to get stuck in and out of the hospital. These are amazing girls and we are so lucky to have so many people supporting them in so many ways. Thinking of you always and God bless your family.
