GOOD NEWS!!
So umm.. about that not having surgery thing.. april fools? haha.. ITS BACK ON! I know .. what right? Long story short- when my surgeon Dr. Liu (who we love) went in with the camera in my belly button which is turning into an art project, he saw 4 areas that looked like they could be cancerous. They biopsied all four and brought them to pathology to determine if they were cancerous or not. The first 3 came back negative but the last one came back positive and that's why they didn't continue on with the surgery. Here's the kind of confusing part and hopefully I explain it okay. They BELIEVE what happened is.. when i got a previous biopsy its possible that when you pull out the big mama needle a cell that is on it can kind of 'fall off' or 'spill' into a new area. After my recent surgery was done my surgeon was curious that 3 were negative and only 1 was positive, and he went back and talked to my previous surgeon and did research and found the spot he took the 4th from was the exact same spot they had done a previous biopsy. So what they believe is it was a cancer cell that kind of got spilled over, so they had planted it there. This would mean it's not spread around on its own, and we could go ahead with the surgery. It was crazy news, and I'm just so thankful that Dr. Liu went back and thought about this and did the research he did after my surgery was over. This doesn't normally happen. So we don't know when surgery is yet. If we can't have it for a couple weeks we're going to do a chemo round first, but it might be possible to have the surgery within a week. :) yipitty skippity dippty dee! I was going to be creative and put a video post on here with the good news, even thought about putting into a silly song on guitar, but I'm not feeling too hot today so I had to go the old boring typing route. I think soon we might be due for some sort of video though. Im up for suggestions. And I better get some dangit, b/c 1640something people have looked on here in about 30 hours, so gimme some ideas! :) Thanks for all the prayers and support from everyone.. bob was right- everything little thing is gonna be allright! Oh, and i forgot to explain the rest of the plan. duh sam- So after if surgery goes well and is succesful in the pancreas department the transplant team says if we can contain my cancer to my liver for 6 months they will consider me a liver transplant candidate. This would mean during those 6 months I would get a different regime of chemos than i was getting before b/c we believe what I was getting isn't going to be bad-ass enough to keep it just to my liver. So we might be doing some types of phase 1 experimental drugs, so if I sprout a tail don't make fun of me. That's about all the energy I have for now, lots of love everyone. celebrate!...(even tho this surgery suckssssss and will be a crappy recovery...someone please induce a coma?)
